Dedicated to the memory of all the men and women of the Bridgnorth area who died during the two World Wars.
John Bell was born in Ditton Priors in 1892. He was the son of James Bell, a farmer, and his wife, Catherine.
John served with the 1/1 Herefordshire Regiment. He was killed in action during the Third Battle of Gaza - probably during the Capture of Tell Khuweilfe. He is buried in Beersheba War Cemetery.
Private John Bell, 238880 Herefordshire Regiment, was awarded the Victory and British War Medals.
This memorial has mostly been compiled from official sources. It would be good to be able to expand it with more personal material - memories, stories, photos, etc. If you have any suitable material or any corrections please contact Greg. For news of updates follow @BridgnorthHeros on Twitter.
