Dedicated to the memory of all the men and women of the South Staffordshire area who died during the two World Wars.
Frank Kingston was born in 1896. He was the son of George and Helen Kingston of Road Farm, Stretton. In 1914 Frank emigrated to Canada where he worked as a farmer in Strassburg, Saskatchewan.
Frank enlisted in the Canadian Army in January 1916, serving with the Canadian 13th Infantry Battalion. He went missing on 15th August 1917 during the Battle of Hill 70 - a Canadian action designed to draw German troops away from the 3rd Battle of Ypres. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
This memorial has mostly been compiled from official sources. It would be good to be able to expand it with more personal material - memories, stories, photos, etc. If you have any suitable material or any corrections please contact Greg.
